im really only about half butt hurt about it after the initial shock wore off Laughing

i think i am more mad that it was probably the one car larry could have kept running but we all learn a little from each mistake. but we are getting short on block here in ohio.

i still have my old block in storage that compression was going south in the #1 cylinder. i would love to see the montero have a turbo block in it but its really just not that high on my list.

still think i would rather start this time around with a D50 reg cab short bed as a drag car platform. th350 swap and maybe tub the rear end and i bet i can get a TBI motor in the 10 second range.

i just need someone elses budget Laughing

edit: not that i have the money but what would a stock block run me from you PQ? i bet shipping would be murder from NM to OH.

But, you might want to, get-a-job, so you can BUY, some gasoline. Laughing

I'm guessing a 150 shot with no timing retard control was a bad idea.....

Not at the track, just playing around at work with a Mazda Speed3. Didn't make it through 1st gear. When I ran the juice last year, I backed the timing off at the dizzy. This time the kid with the 3 was running his mouth before we left work, so I cranked the bottle open before getting in to leave. It showed full pressure still so I thought what the hell, I'll just get on it a little. NOPE, that was a bad idea.

Couldn't believe this thing started back up, drove onto and off of the trailer, then backed up the driveway into the garage. Just pulled the plug wire on that cylinder.

I would call that reatarding the timming........

well, you actually said it would be expensive to do it right which would lead most to think you meant some sort of electronic control.

manually locking out a dist might cost you a whole $3.

Not trying to start a debate. Just pointing out an often overlooked route to take.

As for the $$ when I priced it seems like it was about $800-900+ range. By the time you get a purge setup and the proper vent tube and then a way to retard the timing so itís not 100% on, all the time. Thatís all I was meaning it can get pricy. The Track I went to was super hard on Tech if you sprayed. Had to have the vent tube and installed right with all the safety stuff. I would dare say 9 out of 10 did not pass it on the first try. Any how I want to some 4g54 get some good times with the spary!!!!!

Well ole boy wont cough up a timeslip or vid. Rolling Eyes

I know of a handful of STOCK TBi G54B wet kit only's goin into the 11's. so its SUPER doable. And Easier than most think. I just cant handle ANOTHER build at this time.

I just wanna strip down a Q and go all cheapo with some spray. But wanna aint gonna do shit. Laughing

Buy summers end, NitroQuest should be full tilt on trans destruction. Twisted Evil I dont care how many stockers we eat up. Were gonna put a stock trans into the 10's lol
