I don't like how you guys did the down pipe....Looks like you cut the pipe across the radius where it is not a perfect circle anymore. Rolling Eyes It would look a lot neater with a 2.5 inch down pipe and then 3 inch from there instead of that tight ass bend and reducer. Rolling Eyes

well....i did NOT have any real control over the whole design of the DP area, that including the welding was done by the owner. that turbo honestly did NOT need a external gate at all in my opinion.

now, that GOOFY ass oblonged recuder part, you can thank MK1 (mookee) for that one, cause thats one of his downpipes. here is is in its original form.

look at this shit flange it came with, ummmm that would have NEVER sealed, not to mention it WARPED from the welding the thin as section.

you will get NO arguements from me that a 3in DP is OVERKILL on the back of a mits turbo. the outlet on the hotside is only 2" and only 2.25" on my T3 mits housing, 3" bolted to these just makes it a pain in the ass to seal, and getting the nuts on are also a pain.

Yeah, thats pretty lame for Mookeeh, I bought some other stuff from them and the quality was good. That flange *IS* a joke I would of bitched about that BIG TIME!!! Just bolt a regular 2.5 inch down pipe and be done. Then if you must have 3 inch go from there. On my CHAD's header we got the wastegate pointing down and towards the block underneath the down pipe so it keeps the HEAT away, this WG set up looks like it will heat the bay more.

yes, not to mention its almost TOUCHING the PS lines, and AC line, also sits way closer to the passenger side brake line.

i think its gonna create some problems for him, i also tried to talk him into using a tep 2.5 dp that was here but he was set on using that MK1 for some reason. as soon as i would have unpacked that thing i would have wrapped it back up and sent it back.

i hope it works out for him, but i think its gonna cause problems.

I guess it was done that way to show off the fancy wastegate. In this pic (Chad's header) you can kind of see how the wastegate is tucked down and towards the block.

yea, that ones built into the header, toms isnt, hes just externally dumping whats coming thru the internal wastegate hole, so its not flowing any more then it would have being left internally gated.
